      Church of Today
      Church of Today
Join us every Wednesday for a new episode, written by teens for teens. We’ve probably all heard it before. Grown-ups saying, “You’re the church of tomorrow.” Like our voices, our choices, our faith — they only matter later. Like what we do now doesn’t really count, like our yes or no today is just practice for someday down the road. But what if that’s not true? What if today, right now, is exactly the time our yes matters most? Over the next few days, we’ll hear stories from scripture and watch how people answered God’s call in so many different ways — stepping out, speaking up, staying faithful, listening quietly, risking for others. And as we listen, we’ll start asking ourselves: How do we say yes today?

2Day 1: AbramLike Abram, we’re often called to trust in ways that stretch us. We may not be asked to uproot our entire lives, but God does call us to step out in faith. Written by Mikayla Cranick from Mercy High School.

3Day 2: MosesMoses’s story shows us that your past doesn’t disqualify you. Your fear doesn’t cancel your calling. God sees more in you than you see in yourself. Written by Lucas Schalch from Cathedral Catholic High School.

4Day 3: SamuelEvery day, God invites us, like Samuel, closer to Him. He stirs something in our hearts. A longing. A desire. A quiet pull toward prayer, toward holiness, toward truth. But how do we respond? Written by Chloe Heim from Frassati High School.

5Day 4: RuthThe story of Ruth reminds us that being Christ-like isn’t just about what we believe—it’s about what we choose. Especially in moments of pain, confusion, or loss, we are called to pursue holiness with intention. Written by Amelia Payan from Frassati High School.

6Day 5: ElijahJust like Elijah, we often expect to hear God through big, loud, obvious moments. A clear sign. A life-altering experience. Something impossible to ignore. But God doesn’t always speak that way. Sometimes, His voice comes in a quiet nudge. Written by Maeve Gorman from Mercy High School.

7Day 6: EstherThis is the heart of Esther’s story—and of faith itself: living with uncertainty. We don’t know the future. We don’t know how things will turn out. But that unknown space is not a trap, it’s a gift. It’s where faith happens. Written by Abby Womack from Frassati High School.

8Day 7: Mary & MarthaMary understood something that Martha didn’t. That the most important thing wasn’t the meal or the to-do list—it was Jesus Himself. And when she sat at His feet, she was saying, “You are enough. And I don’t have to earn Your love.” Written by Teresa Benevente from Loretto High School.

9Day 8: Fishers of MenWhat would it take for you to leave everything behind and follow someone? Better yet, what would it take for you to follow someone you barely know—or didn’t know at all? Written by Gustin Cornwell from Frassati High School
