      1ShepherdIn this first session, Michael Iskander shares his personal reflection on King David and describes the world into which David was born. We'll close by praying with Psalm 23 and reflecting on God as shepherd.

      2AnointedToday we'll hear the fascinating story of how David became the next king of Israel. Then we'll pray with the Shema from Deuteronomy 6, including both the spoken text in English as well as a song in Hebrew.

      3BattleToday we'll see how David rises to prominence in Israel through one of the most well-known moments in Sacred Scripture: his battle with Goliath. Then we'll pray with Psalm 13 and call out to the Lord in our own trials.

      4PraiseAs our series continues, we'll hear about the struggle between King Saul and David as David's fame grows throughout Israel. Then we'll pray with David's song of praise to God in 1 Chronicles 16.

      5RepentanceToday we'll see how David's character is tested in a time of temptation, and through his fall, we'll rediscover the depth of God's mercy. For our prayer, we'll meditate on the prayer of repentance in Psalm 51.

      6ControlToday we'll see the aftereffects of David's sin as we hear the story of his son's rebellion. Then we'll meditate on the abiding presence of the Lord as we pray with Psalm 139.
      Day 68 min
      7LegacyIn this final session, we'll look at the end of David's life and reflect on his legacy, particularly how the Lord prepared the way for the coming of the Messiah. Then we'll close in prayer with the first verses of Psalm 40.
