Bible Verses for Protection

Jewish people were expecting a different type of king before Jesus arrived, one who was a mighty warrior who could help them topple the Romans. Jesus modeled servant leadership before dying for our wins and winning our salvation through His resurrection. When we think about how God protects us, it may not be in the typical way we think about protection. God doesn’t offer a suit of armor that shields us from any pain. In fact, struggling is part of our reality. Yet we know that God is always by our side, and that the communion of saints in heaven interceding on our behalf when we call on them in moments we feel especially vulnerable. Spend time with these Bible verses for protection and feel the Holy Spirit guiding you to safety–whatever that means for your life in this particular moment.

Let Hallow help you pray when you’re seeking Bible Verses for protection.

No matter what you’re facing or what you’re feeling, God is not far from you. We draw especially close to God when we spend time reflecting on Scripture.

“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”

Ephesians 4: 32

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29: 11

“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

Philippians 4: 13

“The LORD will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”

Psalm 121: 7-8

“What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation.”

1 Corinthians 14: 26

If spending some time with these bible verses for protection sparked a desire inside of you to dive more deeply into God’s Word, consider exploring Hallow’s guide to Lectio Divina.

Lectio Divina is a meditative way of reading the Bible where we open our hearts and minds to try to understand how God is speaking to us personally through the Scripture we read.

It’s not Bible study or simply analyzing text. Rather, Lectio Divina recognizes that Scripture can become God’s living Word for each of us.
