Servant of God, Sister Thea Bowman recorded this collection of Spirituals 2 years before her death. For Sister Thea, a Black Catholic educator and “apostle of love”, singing was a powerful way to share the message of the hope and joy of the Gospel with a new generation. “It is the whole spirituality, the whole prayer life that the music expresses.”
