Best Prayers during August

August is dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. August is likely associated with the Immaculate Heart of Mary because of St. (Pope) Pius XII’s special devotion to Our Lady of Fatima during World War II. In August, we celebrate the Assumption of Mary into Heaven, a holy day of obligation in the Church, and then Queenship of Mary.

We also celebrate the St. Dominic’s feast day in August; tradition holds that Mary appeared to St. Dominic in 1221 and gave him the devotion of the Rosary. August is also filled with many feast days of interesting and impactful saints, including St. John Vianney, St. Edith Stein, and doctor of the Church St. Augustine, among many others.
